Court Orders Craig Wright to Appear Personally at a Mediation to Address Bitcoin Theft Allegation

In a recently filed court document, controversial and self-acclaimed Satoshi, Craig Wright has been ordered to appear personally at mediation to address the allegation that he stole 1.1 million bitcoin (BTC) from Dave Kleiman.

Craig Wright Want Video Conference

Responding to the court orders, Craig Wright had requested permission to appear by video conference. In his defence, Craig believes that attending the courtroom would have caused him “unjustifiable hardship.”
His please has however fallen on the deaf ear of the court. According to the plaintiffs, the discovery already performed so far in the case delivered “sufficient information to fairly evaluate the claims at issue.”

The judge in charge of the case, Judge Beth Bloom ruled that:

“Personal appearance by the parties will promote meaningful participation at mediation.”

Due to this filling, Wright has no choice than to attend the next mediation session. This is expected to take place next week June 18.

Wright has been accused by the estate of Kleiman for stealing bitcoin from the Kleiman, crypto developer who passed away in 2013. The family of the deceased claimed that a total of about 1.1 million BTC was stolen. This will amount to about $8 billion+ as at when this news was published.

Wright has since made several attempts to discredit the family’s claim. Wright has made repeated requests to have the lawsuit dismissed. Thanks to Judge Bloom, the case as continued and is expected to run it due cause to determine if wright truly stole the coins.

Copyright to the Bitcoin Whitepaper

Wright which is known for spearheading the fork of the BCH network has been in the new for the most controversial of thing in the industry. Recently he filed the United States copyright registrations for the Bitcoin white paper authored by Satoshi Nakamoto.

This move was followed by a backlash from the industry as a whole. In response to whether this means he now owns the bitcoin whitepaper, the copyright office has received that his claims are recognized by the U.S. government.
