Is Satoshi Nakamoto back?

Satoshi Nakamoto is the name or the pseudonyme used by the creator of bitcoin, the first decentralized, censorship resistant digital currency. He or she also wrote the bitcoin white paper, an iconic reference for the blockchain industry. This person disappeared from the space around April 2011, never to be heard of again. Since then, many investigators have tried to unveil this identity and others have tried and failed to impersonate Satoshi Nakamoto. Over the week end, the website Nakamotofamilyfoundation.org published a 21 page PDF on their website, supposedly containing the beginnings of Satoshi’s forthcoming book. Unlikely to be Satoshi’s work, the suspense around identity continues.

Do you think Satoshi’s back? Is this a hoax? If he’s still out there, watching the blockchain industry unfold before his eyes, should he remain anonymous?

Millennials Investing in Cryptocurrencies

According to a recent study conducted in the UK, millennials are now considering investing in cryptocurrencies instead of real estate. This study polled over 3,000 21 to 35-year-olds across the UK for their views on living, working, home ownership and traveling. The results depict caution around property investment, optimism around incomes and an openness to flexible working which is a real departure from previous generations.

The most intriguing part is that; “For millennials the soaring performance of Bitcoin — followed by an almost equally profound correction — holds more intrigue than the prospect of steady growth in house prices [… ] this translated to 27% of male millennials polled believing that Bitcoin represents a better investment than property.” This echoes to another previous study that had uncovered that 21.2 percent of current college students with student loan debt, have used financial aid money to fund a cryptocurrency investment.
