Dash Core CEO Ryan Taylor had a nasty surprise yesterday when his social media accounts and cellphone were hacked by “cybercriminals”, who gleefully ran amok with his Twitter account in particular by posting vulgar and racist comments and harrassing Justin Sun of Tron.

A thread was opened on 4chan, the anonymous online forum in the /biz section which is dedicated to business and finance. In it a user claimed to have control of Taylor’s Twitter account and proved it to the other members before asking them to vote on new posts and make suggestions, which they did.

“you should do a fake exit scam and cause DASH to dump lol”

“Post that all Dash private transactions will be revealed because dash users have nothing to hide”

“NOOOO!!!! You should have posted a believable FUD about dash being bankrupt or closing down and we could have bought the dip!!!”

The posts ranged from racist memes to self-depricating comments, although at the request of other users the hacker also insulted Justin Sun of the Tron project and declared that bitcoin cash was the real bitcoin, as well as announcing fake partnerships on request.

The hacker also posted images of typed messages ready to be sent pending community reaction and approval, such as an announcement that Dash would never be listed on Coinbase.

Taylor realized that his account had been hacked after about an hour, and stated:

“It has come to my attention that I have been the target of cybercriminals at sometime this afternoon (Wednesday, 5/9). At the moment, my Twitter account, LinkedIn account, and personal cell phone SIM card have been compromised. However, we’re still evaluating the extent of the attack, as additional channels could be compromised. I will continue to share details as they are surfaced.”

The hacker seemingly trolled CMO Fernando Gutierrez who, according to images posted on 4chan, suggested that the hacker may have “brain damage” based on his activities with the Twitter account.

After several hours of being powerles to stop the off-color tweets being posted, Taylor tweeted to say that he had finally regained access of his social media.

The activity does not seem to have negatively impacted the value of DASH tokens, which actually saw a 4.7% increase in value over the last 24 hours despite the efforts of the 4chan user or users.

4chan are well-known for pulling similar stunts to this, with other incidences including hacking into the private accounts of actress Jennifer Lawrence to leak nude photogoraphs and targeting actor Shia LaBeouf to find the secret location of his politically charged livestream project by studying the flight patterns and contrails of airplanes in the video and zeroing in on the location before removing LeBeouf’s anti-Trump flag and replacing it with pro-Trump material.
