Retail Giant Walmart Hiring ‘Cryptocurrency Lead’ to Develop Digital Currency Strategy and Products – Featured Bitcoin News

Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, is hiring a “digital currency and cryptocurrency product lead.” The company says it “enables broad set of payment options for its customers” and is developing a “digital currency strategy and product roadmap.”

Walmart Developing Crypto Strategy and Product Roadmap

Retail giant Walmart posted a job opening for a “digital currency and cryptocurrency product lead” Sunday. It is a full-time position based in Bentonville, AR, where Walmart Inc. is headquartered. The posting details:

As one of the largest retailers and e-commerce companies, Walmart enables [a] broad set of payment options for its customers. As digital currency/ cryptocurrency lead at Walmart you will be responsible for developing the digital currency strategy and product roadmap.

“As an expert in digital currencies/ cryptocurrency and blockchain related technologies, you will drive the vision for the product and capabilities roadmap,” the posting continues. “You will provide the leadership to identify technology and customer trends and the investments needed to build on those trends.”

Among several responsibilities, the successful candidate will “own and drive the digital currency strategy for Walmart,” “commit to a product roadmap and drive the project execution,” and “identify crypto related investment and partnerships.”

The basic qualifications required for the crypto lead position include a bachelor’s degree and “Experience with the cryptocurrency ecosystem and related technologies.”

Last month, Amazon, the world’s second-largest retailer, posted a job opening for a “digital currency and blockchain product lead” to develop its crypto strategy “including the customer experience, technical strategy and capabilities as well as the launch strategy.” The e-commerce giant is also rumored to start accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies by the end of this year. However, the company denied having specific plans for crypto.
