Decentralized storage allows collecting tons of information about human behavior with an easy access and transparent monetization. It opens new horizons in the spectrum of industries, including emerging digital self-improvement area.

With new data interpretation methods, Blockchain is used in many spheres, including finance, real estate, medicine, science, travelling, public services and etc. The ability to use distributed nodes and store huge amounts of data is changing the self-improvement industry as well. New technologies will help people achieving their goals in personal development easily and without any fraud.

India

Nowadays people in many countries are looking for personal development options as competition in global jobs market is rising. Of course, there are some cultural differences: in India people are asking for astrological forecasts, US citizens prefer career-development coaching, in Russia there are popular psychological trainings to unleash one’s potential. All trainers are using various methods, which typologies a person according to his or her personal characteristics and providing recommendations. The problem with these methods is the lack of data and statistical validation.

Blockchain and Big Data combined together can bring innovative solutions to this market. In case of success, this approach will remove future methods’ limitations and discover the human brain in details.

Self-improvement is becoming digital

Self-improvement is very popular among millennials, 94% of them consider personal development as a value. They are looking for easy and affordable tools. Today’s coaches, trainers and consultants are expensive, and it is only one aspect of the problem. Without a large-scale database and statistics, no one of them can prove, if his method is valid for a particular person. In this situation blockchain-based applications, which can access all collected data, have significant advantages.

In addition, apps are just more convenient. People can access self-improvement services anywhere and anytime. And there’s a space for consultants too. Some of them are already developing projects for a new cloud-oriented world. This way they can access a much broader audience, and their service is becoming more affordable.

There is a growing number of apps using personal data interpretation tests. For example, in Remente you need to answer a questionnaire and the system will provide you with recommendations, based on the static algorithm. Such methods as IQ tests, Myers-Briggs, and Astrology forecasts are used commonly. But every app of this kind is now isolated of each other and cannot use a broad statistic to improve one’s results.

In case of commonly used digital solutions, they have an important disadvantage. As they are all centralized systems, which own data they collect only, so there is always a risk of data manipulation.

If this kind of apps could share collected data, the results would be much more accurate. Combining it with an actual information from the recent brain studies could bring new methods with data-driven results. An open and decentralized system would attract more experts and gain more trust, as there will be no decision-making center.

Human Discovery Platform

Moscow-based Blockchain startup Human Discovery Platform aims to solve these problems. The team is developing a complex platform for self-improvement and human behavior study. The system allows collecting a large amount of impersonal data to perform researches and test new methods. The platform will enable all experts – psychologists, trainers, researchers, etc. – to install their own methodic into the system by creating a block, put it on nodes and execute a code of analysis.

HDP is launched by Russian entrepreneurs, cofounders of an already successful GetCourse edtech service with a revenue of $6M in 2017. Proof of concept, HD.Dating project, was launched in Russia in 2017 and soon became popular, matching people for their astrological characteristics.

On November, 22nd, the company launches token sale to raise $30 mln for its development. The company will distribute 100 000 000 Ethereum-based HD-tokens. The price of 1 token will be equal to 0.375 USD. Those individuals, who will buy tokens within the first 24 hours will be awarded with 20% bonus in addition to purchased tokens.

“Every time end-user requests analysis of his data, he will spend HD-tokens, which will later be distributed between method-block and node which runs analysis code. Thus, with growing demand for smart products created on the basis on the Platform, price of token will increase”, – explains Timur Karimbaev, CEO of Human Discovery Platform.

According to HDP roadmap, the platform will be launched in June 2018. In December 2018, a decentralized model with a Proof of Stake algorithm will be implemented. The method-blocks will be stored as the analogue bytecode. In February 2020, HDStat Core will be launched and will give an opportunity for experts to save research results by analysis  block requests to the blockchain network and create statistically validated methods. In September 2020, Big Data tools will be implemented to analyze the results of the methods.
